What is a day in the life of a real estate agent really like? Today, I’ll talk about how to set up a day to be the most successful agent you can be.

The first thing you should do is treat this like it’s a 9-to-5 job. Always keep yourself busy with whatever you’re able to keep busy with. Sometimes as a new agent, you don’t have much direction, but just need to search for ways to keep yourself busy.

But as a real estate agent, you are your own CEO because you’re always on call. You never know when a client call is going to come in or when an offer is going to get accepted.

Once I learned that I was my own CEO I knew I needed to motivate myself to grow. Personal development is important. Reading and Audible is one way to learn and grow. There are a ton of books on personal growth, and if you ever need suggestions…let me know! I have a ton.

The gym is another way to grow yourself or even just take a walk. Getting a little bit of fresh air and Vitamin D is key.

After personal development, the next important thing is to block out time to prospect. For me, that’s prospecting for new agents but for others, it’s prospecting for new clients.

Admin work should always be done before the end of the workday. One tool we use religiously is Google Calendar. A calendar makes it easier for us to be aware of contractual timelines. Control the timelines and fill in the rest of the time with prospecting.

Next, educate when free! It’s kind of like personal development, but not. You’ll need to know areas, neighborhoods, communities as a real estate agent and the only way to learn is to talk to members of those areas.

So each day as a real estate agent is different because each client and house is different, but every day should include personal development, admin work, and educating yourself on the area. If you have any questions about working with Scofield Realty, please reach out. We’d love to talk with you!
