Very well known to long term Las Vegas locals, I just found out the house with the underground bomb shelter has been listed on the market for $18,000,000. Located at 3970 Spencer St, Las Vegas, NV 89119, this 14,620 square foot steel and concrete doomsday bunker was designed to survive major calamities. It was built in 1978 by Jerry and Mary Henderson. The was actually the third underground house they built, The Henderson’s lived in this house until 1983 when Jerry died. The house above ground is is 2,316 square feet and is located on a 1.05 acre lot.
This house sold on 2005 for $2 million dollars and in 2012 it was foreclosed to the lender for just over $600,000. It was purchased for $1.5 million in 2014 by the Society for the Preservation of Near Extinct Species where they used to give tours to the public. A member of my staff toured the house a number of times and told me he felt like he was stepping back in time. You can see photos of this one of a kind home here.
I don’t see the house going for $18,000,000. A 1,465% price increase in just 5 years? I am more then willing to present any REASONABLE offer for you. I think a zombie apocalypse is more likely to happen then a nuclear bomb and I know of the perfect house located 4 hours north in Goldfield NV for $900,000.
